Sean and Becky, Bicester, 24th July 2010.

Well the day started great ! We were ready for a 10.00am start and the journey to Bicester to set up early at the wedding of Sean and Becky. The Redfords like to set up early if they are performing in the same room as the wedding breakfast. So when the guests and Bride and Groom arrive everything is ready and in place.

The M25 was blocked as usual ! Ascot racing and the Farnborough Air Show today!!. We arrived about 1.15pm just in time to set up before the guests started to arrive. H E Bates would have been proud, the marquee was set in amongst the farm buildings, chickens, milk churns, tractors and right next to the duck pond. What a fabulous setting.

All set up and ready to go! the top table has a extension microphone connected to the band PA, the background music is playing quietly,  the best man has had a quick lesson in sound engineering, (well he knows how to turn the mic and iPod on and off) and we are off to kill the next 5 hours in the historic city of Oxford but only got as far and the Fox and Hounds for a Pub lunch and Cherwell Valley services for a very long and relaxing coffee break.

We arrived back and realise that we had missed the Hog Roast ! We were looking forward to that as well !!

After the evening guests had all arrived we kicked of with the first set. Slow songs were the order of the day taking the tempo up towards the end to leave the guests with Sean and Becky’s iPod selection during the breaks, a great choice of new and some old Irish favourites and one point there was even a formal set arranged for a proper Irish country dance.

The evening now was closing in and darkness began to fall, still nice enough to sit out side though. The Ducks had retired to the safety and relative comfort of their island retreat in the middle of the pond while we all tucked into the buffet.

The second set was well received with pretty much everyone on the dance floor. Another short break and we were into the last set again with a packed floor.

At the end of the evening guests formed themselves into two columns leading away from the stage to a waiting car the bride and groom were lifted high on the shoulders of friends and family and cheered away from the venue in traditional form.

Our clear away was relatively easy as we had now help from some interested young people and we were able to get the van almost right up to the stage. Arrived home safely at 03.30am

Congrats to Sean and Becky
