Theresa and Colin, Acoustic Duo, Rowhill Grange 7th July 2010

The Redfords Acoustic Duo performed during the wedding ceremony and breakfast for Colin and Theresa at the lovely Rowhill Grange Hotel and Utopia Spa in Kent.

Theresa had handpicked the songs she wanted for the ceremony. She made her grand entrance down the stairs and across the lawn to ‘Over the Rainbow’. During the signing of the register we played ’Time after time’ and ‘Make you feel my love’. They walked back down the isle as husband and wife to The Beatles ‘All you need is love’ which is always a favourite choice.

We then had a quick change to move all our equipment from the ceremony garden to the dining room ready for the wedding breakfast. A fully air-conditioned room, superbly decorated. This was to be a nice surprise for the guests, after sipping champagne in the extensive gardens at Rowhill Grange it was good to get into a cool atmosphere to eat.

Speaking to Colin and Theresa just before they were to be introduced to their guests as the new Mr and Mrs Smith we learned that the band playing in the evening didn’t intend to play their first dance song. “What is it” we ask ?” By your side” by Sade…” and we were so looking forward to it as well” Theresa replies. “We’ll learn it now and play it for you as our first song this afternoon”.

“By your side” really meant something special to Theresa so much so she was moved to tears! We would like to think it was our performance that sparked the emotion but we will settle for a combination of that and the lyrics in the song… Another couple of 30 minute sets were performed during each of the breakfast courses and that was that, well except for the impromptu sing a long to Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” and Leona Lewis’s ”Run“

Afterwards Colin and Theresa remarked “To the fantastic acoustic duo, thank you for making our day that little bit more special at Rowhill. Theresa and Colin. ”

We would like to thank Colin and Theresa for their kind words and generosity. We will remember their wedding for a long time to come and wish all the best for your future together.
