The Redfords arrived early today to perform as the wedding band for Olly and Becky’s Kentish Nautical Wedding. The autumn temperatures are with us but the sunshine’s great.. Ideal for wedding pictures!! The photographers were up from Somerset. Becky was particular about having them record her wedding. We’ve arrived early again!! Just in time to sample the delights of the Pavilion’s Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant and bar. Fantastic food and reasonably priced.!! The Pavilion is attached to Eastwell Manor and houses the gym, swimming pool and golf complex. The whole estate seems to stretch for miles across some of Kent’s most beautiful countryside.

What a glorious day to start our September wedding diary. The run round the M25 up the M1 and along the A50 was uneventful. Very little traffic for a Friday and we arrived safe and early.
Caveswall Castle looks every bit the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding and we are to play in the dungeon!!

The very first wedding at this barn venue so I guess we must be the first band to play here.. Lower Grange Farm barn is situated towards the rear of the Sandling Harvester (the Running Horse) Although quite close to Maidstone it sits in a little back water probably only known to locals I am sure it will make an ideal venue.

It’s a bright sunny late August bank holiday weekend morning we are stopped in yet another “On the Run” buying breakfast and batteries. No Van today as the Acoustic performance scheduled for 3.00pm will not need the 1250kgs of gear still load in the sprinter. So not so much humping unless of course we are performing upstairs.

We arrived at Boys Hall a quaint 17th century Jacobean Manor House set in 3 acres of landscaped garden now a hotel and wedding venue at 7.00pm. We were booked to play in the same room as the wedding breakfast so quite a logistical operation to get the bands flight cased equipment in through the back door and set without disturbing the guests.

Fairbridge, Historic Dockyard Chatham, 19th August...
Set up for this unusual gig was a breeze, all but our bear essential was provided for us. This was a fund raising Party on behalf of the Fairbridge Charity. Based in the Historic Dockyard Chatham Fairbridge works with young people aged 13-25 that other organisations find difficult to engage – giving them the motivation, self-confidence and skills they need to change their lives.

After a quite miserable start to the day our arrival at Nettlestead Place was a very pleasant step back in time. Sunshine is particularly beautiful in the evening after a fresh gentle summer shower. This venue has it all, being in the heart of the Kent countryside just west of Maidstone. Nettlestead Place sits high on the west side of the Medway valley.

Well the day started great ! We were ready for a 10.00am start and the journey to Bicester to set up early at the wedding of Sean and Becky. The Redfords like to set up early if they are performing in the same room as the wedding breakfast. So when the guests and Bride and Groom arrive everything is ready and in place.
